Beppie Schalken
Trombonist Beppie Schalken has been playing in the Orkest De Ereprijs since 2016. In her work, she always strives to find the perfect balance between performing and teaching.
In addition to her work at De Ereprijs, she created the successful children's musical performance "De Bremer Stadsmuzikanten" (The Bremen City Musicians). The performance won the Junior Grachtenfestival Prize in 2017, was broadcast live on NPO Radio 4, and toured the summer, reaching hundreds of children and introducing them to classical music in a playful way. Beppie also performs in other musical theater productions.
Beppie is equally successful as a teacher. With her trombone students, school classes, and projects like Mr. Pbone (www.mrpbone.nl), she inspires everyone with music and culture.
Beppie earned her bachelor's degree from the conservatory and her combined master's degree in performing trombonism and education, with teachers Mark Boonstra, Nico Schippers, and Bart van Lier.
