We are proud to share that Fonds Podiumkunsten has honored two applications for composition commissions from Orkest De Ereprijs! New works by Oğuz Büyükberber and Ned McGowan will premiere in the autumn of 2021.
From January 2021 Aspasia Nasopoulou will take over from Wim Boerman as artistic leader of de ereprijs. We look ahead with her to the period from 2021.
The limitations of the moment will determine the shape of our upcoming concerts, but these rules do not prevent us from looking ahead with enthusiasm and an open mind. We want to strengthen the link between current music and current events in society: to show that new music is needed.
Last month we recorded the impressive composition 'De Reiger' (Kate Moore, 2019) in Musis Arnhem. Mirthe Dokter made an analog animation on an overhead projector.
We are happy to add Florian to the team of senior composers at the 2021 edition of the Young Composers Meeting. Welcome Florian!
Each of them will be awarded a commission.

In the coming weeks, students at ten secondary schools in the Netherlands and Germany will close the Ereprijs composition project with a concert, where all new compositions will be performed by Orkest De Ereprijs. Due to the corona measures, the concerts are not open to the public, but can be followed via a live stream.
That was it. Just over 40 years and all with great pleasure. It is still a great pleasure, but a number of incidentals prompted the passing of the baton. With many thanks to all members and ex-members of de ereprijs, because without their constant energy and commitment it would never have been possible. Naturally, this also applies to the various board members, who have helped to lay and maintain the foundation for all activities. Not to forget in this context the various politicians, both locally and especially regionally and the associated authorities.
Congrats Ed Bennett on Psychedelia! We are very happy to be part of your newest release.
