Maaiveld Festival postponed till 2022

Now that the restrictions and measures taken by the government as a result of the worldwide Corona crisis are increasingly intervening, we have had to make a difficult decision. After consultation with the Municipality of Apeldoorn, the organization of Maaiveld has decided to cancel the event - which was planned on 15 and 16 May in and around Apeldoorn's Stationsplein.

As an organization, we are in line with the forecasts of the Verenigde Podiumkunstenfestivals, which report that the end of the corona crisis certainly does not seem to be in sight and that the consequences for festivals will be significant throughout the year. We, CODA, GIGANT, NJON, orkest de ereprijs, Orpheus and all employees involved, regret the decision. We have been working very hard on a new city festival for Apeldoorn for more than a year. A festival of the connection, between cultural disciplines, between people, with music as a common thread. The culture sector and the public are hit extremely hard in this Corona crisis. And now makers and musicians are also affected. We are very sorry, but health and the public interest are paramount. Therefore we do not consider it responsible to continue the event on the planned dates in May. However, we can no longer wait organisationally and financially with the decision to postpone until May 2022.
