The tension between H.I. and A.I. therefore requires 'serious' research. Partners Veenfabriek, Ereprijs and ECHO take up this challenge in the production Aldus sprak A.I. An orchestra with 14 players, 3 actors, many robots and A.I.. Together we want to rise above 'ourselves' on the way, and longing, for a better version of 'us', we go in search of who we are. Interacting with our own test version of A.I., we get to know 'her/him/them/it' and want to learn how to become a better version of ourselves. Maybe we can then teach A.I. something human!

On September 10, 2021, Nieuw Geneco presented the second Fair Practice Award Composition Commission to two winners: Orkest De Ereprijs and patron Marcia (Zembla Music / Support the Composer). Both have been awarded for their unbridled commitment to fair remuneration for composers and for their contribution to sustainability in new music: they ensure that new work remains in the spotlight even after its premiere.

Online premiere Lise Morrison - Upstream

In February we recorded the new composition 'Upstream' by Lise Morrison. She wrote this new work for the first concert 'Ear for each other' in the concert series 'Aardlek: urgent matters'. Unfortunately, this concert could not continue due to the lockdown, but we are now proud to present the online premiere with video by Okke van Breemen.

In Memoriam: Louis Andriessen (1939 - 2021)

On Thursday July 1, Louis Andriessen, one of the most influential Dutch composers, passed away at the age of 82. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for some time.

29th Young Composers Meeting: Senior Composers Team

During the annual Young Composers Meeting we give young professional composers a chance to compose for an ensemble and develop their talents, knowledge and professional network. The week is filled with rehearsals, lectures and individual coaching by senior composers. We would like to share with you which composers will accompany the young composers during the 29th Young Composers Meeting in 2023. Richard Ayres and Martijn Padding are once again part of the team, along with three new composers that will join the team: Wilbert Bulsink, Calliope Tsoupaki and Anna Veismane.

We would like to introduce all composers to you one by one.
