The annual Young Composers Meeting is an initiative of Orkest De Ereprijs. We offer young professional composers the opportunity to compose a piece for the ensemble and thus develop their talents, thereby increasing their knowledge and building a network.
St. Louis Blues: 10-15 September in Musis Arnhem!
In 1939 hundreds of Jews fled Europe by boat. In the opera St. Louis Blues we see how their flight to freedom ended in a deception. A penetrating story that is suddenly painfully up to date 80 years later. St. Louis Blues: from 10 to 15 September in Musis Arnhem!
Maaiveld Festival postponed till 2022
Now that the restrictions and measures taken by the government as a result of the worldwide Corona crisis are increasingly intervening, we have had to make a difficult decision. After consultation with the Municipality of Apeldoorn, the organization of Maaiveld has decided to cancel the event - which was planned on 15 and 16 May in and around Apeldoorn's Stationsplein.
40 years orkest de ereprijs!
For our anniversary we present a concert series full of current music, the core business of the orkest de ereprijs.
For forty years the orkest de ereprijs has been the ensemble for new music in the east of the Netherlands, making it a unique, demonstrable and recognized place in the world of 'young, composed music'. The orchestra focuses on new work by living composers. Especially for our 40th birthday, a commission composition will be completed by Jan van de Putte, Wilbert Bulsink, Martijn Padding and Kate Moore, who will premiere during this series.

Update January 20: Due to the extended lockdown, all our concerts and activities have been canceled until February 9, 2021.
Aspasia Nasopoulou as of 1 januari 2021 new artistic leader of de ereprijs
She will follow up Wim Boerman who will step back after 40 years.
The orchestra found a visionary composer/musician in Aspasia Nasopoulou with a strong musical heart. She wants to accelerate the efforts in talent development and go fast forward with new repertoire. The orchestra is impressed by her enthusiasm and ideas for the future!
