De Opening

During ‘De Opening’, the doors of the ACEC will swing wide open and Orkest De Ereprijs will offer a unique glimpse behind the scenes. Step into the rehearsal room, browse through the archive full of musical history, and discover how contemporary music comes to life!
Especially for children: an adventurous concert (ages 8-12).

On Saturday, August 30, at 2:30 p.m., a special children's concert full of surprises will start at ACEC. In 45 minutes, the musicians of Orkest De Ereprijs will take their young audience on a musical journey of discovery. From exciting, modern compositions to an interactive conductor quiz: here you will learn what it's like to conduct an orchestra yourself!

And did you know that you can hear and see every instrument up close? The musicians will play their instruments, answer questions, and make this concert an unforgettable experience.


Followed by: Showcase Orkest de Ereprijs

At 5:00 p.m., there will be a second, short concert in the heart of the ACEC. This time, Orkest De Ereprijs will perform a selection of highlights from their rich repertoire. Half an hour of expressive, contemporary music performed by top musicians. A wonderful way to end the day, whether you are a regular fan or just curious about what the orchestra has to offer.

The activities of Orkest de Ereprijs are part of the program surrounding DE OPENING of the cultural season.

From Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August, Apeldoorn will be transformed into the backdrop for the national cultural weekend DE OPENING. Enjoy three days of performances, exhibitions, street theater, art, and music at surprising locations throughout the city—from Paleis Het Loo to the Marktplein, from parks to museums.
