Louis Andriessen turns 80!
In honor of the birthday of the most famous living Dutch composer, Musis Arnhem, Het Gelders Orkest, orkest de ereprijs and ArtEZ organize a festival on Saturday 23 February 2019.

Program
18:00 - 19:00: Dinner with musical interludes | Singelfoyer
Louis' favorite menu accompanied by small ensembles.

19:00 – 20:00: De Volharding | Parkzaal
A revival of Orkest de Volharding, of which Andriessen was a pianist, in the original line-up by the orkest de ereprijs and students of ArtEZ.

20:15 – 21:15: RKST21 | Parkzaal
The Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra and orkest de ereprijs join forces as RKST21 to discover the future of classical music. Classical music but different: we hear elements from pop, folk and jazz. RKST21 plays, among others, Dances by Louis Andriessen.

21:15 – 22:00: 'Intermission' with musical surprises | Parkfoyer

22:00 – 22:45: Ensemble Klang | Parkfoyer
Ensemble Klang plays Hoketus (Andriessen, 1977). This piece was the reason for the creation of the eponymous ensemble, founded by Louis Andriessen.
