Like every year, lectures are held by the senior composers during YCM. These are freely accessible and take place every evening at 8 pm in Gigant's concert hall from Monday 25 February to Thursday 28 February.
 
Silvia Borzelli studied in Italië (piano and composition at the Conservatorio O.Respighi), in Sweden (Malmö Musikhögskolan) and in The Nederlands (Royal Conservatory The Hague), where she graduated for Master. She attended masterclasses, among which Voix Nouvelles, Bartòk Seminar, De Musica and Impuls. Meetings with composers such as Brian Ferneyhough, Beat Furrer, Bernhard Lang, Yannis Kyriakides and Francesco Filidei have been very important for her futher musical development.

The work of Northern-Irish Ed Bennett consists of large-scale orchestra pieces, ensemble pieces, soloworks, elektronic music, opera, installations and compositions for dance en film. The past years he resided and worked in Parijs, Berlin and Londen. He was commissioned many compositions that were internaionaly performed by a range of artists, ensembles and organisations among which the BBC, RTÉ, PRSF, Music Network, Moving On Music, Olympic Games 2012 and the Arts Council England, Arts Council Ireland and Arts Council of Northern Ireland. His compositions are perfomed by BBC Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, National Orchestra of Belgium, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Crash Ensemble and orkest de ereprijs.

The senior composers will be teaching individual classes to young composers of YCM.
