Aljosja Buijs

Aljosja Buijs studied piano and chamber music with Janine van Mever, Marjès Benoist, and Willem Brons in Arnhem and Amsterdam. He also attended masterclasses with Detlef Kraus and Yean-Yves Thibaudet, among others, and received chamber music lessons from Vladimir Mendelssohn, Colin Carr, Ab Koster, and Pascal Devoyon, among others.

He has performed as a soloist in concertos by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Gershwin, Saint-Saëns, and Janacek, and has played in a wide variety of ensembles from China to France.

Aljosja has a great love for contemporary music and crossover programs. He has played for many years in Orkest De Ereprijs and always seeks new musical connections in his chamber music and solo concerts.

He is the head of the Classical Music program at ArtEZ Conservatorium.

You can wake him up for Ligeti, but certainly also for a nice Margaux, Murakami, travel, and homemade ravioli with sage butter.
